You’ll work closely with our tech team to create, test, and deploy web-based solutions that support our workforce development and community engagement initiatives.

What You Can Expect:

This 9-month virtual internship will provide you with practical experience in web development and project coordination. You will:

• Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of web applications and platforms.
• Work on front-end and back-end coding using modern programming languages and frameworks.
• Support the integration of third-party tools and APIs to enhance program functionality.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure web solutions meet program objectives.
• Participate in testing and debugging to ensure smooth user experience and functionality.
• Learn best practices in web development, responsive design, and web security.
• Build a professional portfolio showcasing your web development projects and technical skills.
• Participate in in-person networking and professional events in your region (DMV, NJ, NY, or Atlanta).
• While this is an unpaid internship, a stipend will be provided upon successful completion of the program.

Responsibilities:

As a Web Developer Intern, you will:

• Assist in developing and coding web applications and platforms using modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, etc.).
• Ensure that web applications are responsive, secure, and optimized for performance.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other developers to implement new features and enhancements.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to improve the quality and functionality of web solutions.
• Contribute to the integration of APIs and third-party tools to improve program functionality.
• Maintain and update web application documentation and ensure all code is properly commented.
• Track and report on progress during weekly team meetings.

Qualifications:

• Basic proficiency in front-end and back-end web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, React, etc.).
• Familiarity with web development frameworks and libraries is a plus.
• Experience with web design principles and responsive design is a plus.
• Ability to work with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
• A proactive, positive attitude and the ability to work independently.
